I'd like to keep it purchases in the short-term, not long-term investment type stuff, that could be a whole different thread !
It can be something a bit shady, but not something likely to get you arrested
I'll kick it off...
Barter about the price, just simply ask for a discount. It won't work with the electric or water companies, but will work with cable/ internet providers, the guy you hire to mow your lawn etc. When dealing with a lawnmower sort, make if clear you'll pay cash... That works well for me and my new Mexican lawnmower, Fernando
After all not reporting all your income is as American as apple pie and the fourth of July !... I'm sure everbody here pays all their taxes ???
Buy clearance stuff at places like Walmart, especially right after Xmas, they quickly make stuff 90 % off , just to get rid of it, need the seasonal space back for the next holiday ( Valentine's Day ),that product is clogging up the backroom ! Now you can buy wrapping paper for 30 cents a roll, a $150 artificial Christmas tree for $15, any gimmicky gift stuff for 10 cents on the dollar that you can always use as a gift when needed
